A-Base Gravel. This product is a mixture of 3/4″ crushed stone sand and clay. It is the same type of gravel that you see on a country road. It will pack hard. It can be used under patio blocks with a thin layer of sand on top to help level the blocks. It can also be used as a base for under new cement. Pit Run
Sub base is a mix of rock, gravel and clay. It is processed through a screener to become no larger than 1 and 1/2 inch, a grade lower than the type 32-33 gravel. The material is still considered a well compacting material used for road building, driveways and gravel parking lots.
